Culinary & Travel Adventures from Calgary and the World

As I mentioned in my last post—the first one in a dozen years—I originally planned to jump straight into detailing our travels and food-based adventures just prior to moving to Australia. That saga is coming, I assure you. The stories of those trips, the foods and experiences of moving across the planet are locked, loaded, and currently being beaten into shape.

But as I was digging through the backend of the site to gear up for those travel posts, I got sidetracked. I started poking around the drafts area and found a couple of unfinished recipes left sitting there, completely frozen in time.

Right at the top of the pile was my ultimate “Nuts and Bolts” recipe.

Looking closely at that old draft, I realized it was basically sitting right on the finish line. It required very few changes to make it complete, balanced, and bulletproof.

So, I figured, screw the timeline. Why make you wait for the travel logs when there is an absolute classic ready to roll? I decided to finish it up and post it right away. Just because. After all I figured that sometimes you just need a cold beer and a massive, unpretentious bowl of crunchy bits.  I got your back.

Consider it an appetizer. Fire up your ovens, dust off your roasting pans, and keep your eyes peeled. The recipe drops next, and the pre-Australia chronicles are right behind it.

Welcome back to the table.
